This paper aims to identify the central focus, the main used arguments, the theoretical bases and the central conclusions about interorganizational cooperation in the end of 1990. The research is guided through the revision of the specialized literature and it concludes that the scientific works on the field of cooperation strategy follow three types of approaches: investigations concerning the relationship between the use of cooperative strategies and the performance of the firms or as source of a competitive advantage; studies on the process of formation of the interorganizational cooperative arrangements; and the construction of models and frameworks emphasizing the aspects under the interfirm relationships. In this sense this paper also identify the theoretical approaches underlying the works on this field of the strategic administration and interorganizational cooperative relationships.Downloads
