'Serving the Turn': colaboração e prova em livros ilegais do período da mão-imprensa

Este artigo considera a prova de textos impressos ilegalmente, principalmente durante os séculos XVI e XVII. Argumentamos que a prova - a prática de corrigir um texto durante o processo de impressão - é fundamental para entender a dinâmica social da autoria e as tensões na produção resultantes da supressão política da imprensa durante esse período. Observamos as evidências da prova nos livros (geralmente panfletos religiosos), bem como o testemunho de autores e impressoras. Essas fontes revelam que a impressão ilegal exigiu um notável grau de trabalho em equipe.Referências
