Hannah Arendt e Charles Taylor pela retomada da realidade do mundo

Resumo

Hannah Arendt e Charles Taylor são dois dos filósofos que mais levaram a sério o problema do individualismo no mundo contemporâneo e, assim, proponho neste artigo uma aproximação crítica que ressalte as convergências entre suas respectivas teorias. Argumentarei, pois, que eles não apenas partem de uma mesma premissa, a saber, a presença central do individualismo na ideologia da modernidade, como propõem soluções muito parecidas para seus excessos, tais quais 1) a necessidade de uma retomada de princípios da tradição civil-republicana de forma a se arejar a política sob condições de Modernidade, isto 2) com o intuito mais amplo de retomar o sentido do mundo enquanto algo comum aos seres humanos. Em suma, minha proposta visa a apropriação de algumas linhas-mestras presentes no pensamento de Taylor de maneira a lançar uma nova (ou mais aguda) luz sobre os aspectos “comunitaristas” e/ou dialógicos presentes no pensamento de Arendt.
