A pesquisa sobre educação infantil: trajetórias e perspectivas

The goal of this study is to present some conclusions about
the trajectory of preschool educational research and its principal themes, highlighting its contributions to pedagogical practice. Some characteristics of international and national research were analyzed, especially that conducted in the 1990's. The educational possibilities of these "new" institutions for children from Oto 6 years old are revealed, considering
their developmental and cultural formation processes. The paper concludes that the establishment of multi-disciplinary groups, which maintain permanent contact with the concrete reality of day-care centers and preschools is indispensable for the construction of the theoreticalpractical bases for the education of Brazilian children.
