Manager's representations about the "Cota Law": citizenship, social responsibility and inclusion

Abstract

The Law 8.213/91 regulates job posts for people with disabilities in companies with over 100 employees. This article had the objective to investigate the social representations of the importance of the Law 8.213 among the managers of establishments in Governador Valadares. The opinions of 12 managers were analyzed qualitatively through content analysis as proposed by Bardin. The following four major subcategories have been identified: Citizenship, Inclusion that is understood here as social insertion, Social Responsibility, Inclusion in order to eliminate social ailments. Therefore, these representations have positive connotation and help for the enforcement of that Law.
