Prevent yourself, if you can!? Disaster epidemiology and the hiperpreventive management of catastrophic risks

The text develops the relationship between disaster epidemiology, the idea of hiperprevention and the context of catastrophic risks. It deals with and illustrates some of the excesses that are part of the tecnoscientific spirit of our time. In this case, located not only in the field of the public health related to the risks of catastrophes. One of the elements, central to our analysis of this context, is hiperprevention, considered under the point of view of a critical theory, that is, it approaches how it is created the extreme preventive normativity in the sanitary field and, in particular, the context the current catastrophic threats. The theoretical approach is based on the biopolitical dimension and of its relative unfoldings to the great increase of the preventive approach in the field of the management of risks and its impossibility of being applied as long as it is intended.
