Professor Frank Lough was an undergraduate at the University of Glasgow and took his PhD at the University of Salford. He spent 9 years teaching Spanish in a tertiary college in Wales before taking up a post as Lecturer in Spanish at the University of Kent in 1990, where he became Head of Spanish and Senior Lecturer. From 2000- 2004 he was Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Kent. He moved to Birmingham in January 2005.
