Time and space are of paramount importance in the novel. Its success depends on the successful handling of them. The general acceptance of Rulfo’s novel is due, to grate extent, to the the rightful dealing with the chrono-spacial axis. Yet Rulfo’s concept of time and space, as worked out in the novel, subverts the common sense linearity of now- then, here – there and enters the realm of sacradness. In this essay we trace back, counting on the necessary theoretical support, Juan Preciado’s wandering from the sure profane ground he set out to the haunting, sacred space of Comala.Downloads
