Tasa de cambio real efectiva, crecimiento e inflación: evidencias para Mozambique (1980-2022)

Resumen

Resumen

Este documento tiene como objetivo investigar el papel del tipo de cambio (tipo de cambio efectivo real y volatilidad del tipo de cambio) en la producción y la inflación en la economía de Mozambique desde 1980 hasta 2022 a través de un modelo ARDL. Para los modelos estimados con el tipo de cambio efectivo real, los resultados demuestran que el tipo de cambio es una variable relevante para determinar tanto la producción como la inflación en Mozambique. Considerando el tipo de cambio efectivo real, los resultados de este estudio muestran que tiene un efecto positivo en la producción y un efecto negativo en la inflación a largo plazo. En el corto y largo plazo, los resultados del trabajo también demuestran que la volatilidad del tipo de cambio efectivo real reduce los niveles de inflación pero no afecta, desde un punto de vista estadístico, el nivel de producción, lo que significa que no tuvo efecto en el nivel de producción.
