Abstract
Knowledge of the topographical anatomy of the pelvic cavity of ruminant females is indispensable for clinical evaluation and any intervention in the genito-urinary apparatus, including the urinary catheterism. The study used 100 fresh pieces of genito-urinary apparatus, obtained from cross-bred cows immediately after the slaughter. Measurements of the distances between the labial ventral joint of the vulva, the suburethral diverticulum and external ostio of the urethra were made. The distance between the ventral labial joint of the vulva and the suburethral diverticulum in the pieces varied from 6,69 to 19,18cm, with an average of 12,52cm. The distance between the ventral labial joint of the vulva and the external ostio of the urethra varied from 10, 98 to 20,77cm, with an average of 14,13cm. The measurement of the diverticulum suburethral varied from 1,75 to 5,29cm, with an average of in lenght 2,96cm. The body was an average of 138,94cm in lenght. The results were analyzed statistically using the Diagram of Dispersion an Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, applying the Student t-test for the correlation at the 5% level of significance. There was an absence of significant correlation bteween the corporal lenght and the distances between the ventral labial joint of the vulva and suburethral diverticulum and external ostio of the urethra in cows.Downloads
