Abstract

The religion, according to Peter L. Berger, is part of the world created by the man; it is part of the culture established by communities of men or, better, by its society, since it exists as an agreement and not just as a common individuals' essence composing this society. In this author’s point of view, this would be the answer to the questions: how to convince a rising society about the validity of its new order, if doesn’t exist a legitimating base for it? Thinking about the origin of these society’s culture, how to deal with the doubt if it has or not been a fruit of an insane mind? These questions are treated in the present article through the analysis of the masterpiece The creation of Adam, from Michelangelo.
