Abstract

The present article aims to consider, through a brief analysis of the painting, the music and the psychoanalysis from the beginning of XXth. century, a specific point of view about the modern man. This point of view intends to be placed in the context of the european artistic vanguards where the similarity between the languages of art and of the rising psychoanalysis can be verified. In both, man shows himself as composed by fragments. Although composed by differentiated and also conflicting elements, he, the modernist man of which we are heirs, still keeps his humanity in the ways he tries to represent: the harmonic relation between different individuals, societies, ways of perceiving and thinking the world.
