Abstract

The present study conducts a revision of the main aspects concerning Kaspar Hauser’s history, discerning about the theories referring to his origins. Three theories are examined: the fraud theory, the prince theory and the chance theory. The DNA exams already made are related. The case is also examined in a psychoanalytical perspective, analyzing the most relevant events in Kaspar Hauser’s life according to the topic of Imaginary, Symbolic and Real. Kaspar Hauser would possess an absence of the imaginary in his development, as he never got through a mirror stadium.
