Abstract

This paper intends to be an approach to the problem that the title announced. This paper is based on research Being male, being parent in Contexts of Poverty, which is still in its initial phase of collecting empirical material. However, life testimonies collected are analyzed from the theoretical framework of P. Bourdieu and R. Connell.  We try to figure out how young men have constructed their masculinities in truly adverse contexts from the concepts of habitus and strategies, understanding gender as a social practice at large.
