Abstract

Our main objective is to examine the differences between the binomial normal-pathologic and the binomial conscious-unconscious in the contexts of the journals: Revista Brasileira de Psicanálise and Revista de Psiquiatria Clínica. A critical view of these journals from theoretical background of Foucault and Canguilhem, and from current scholars of these authors show how the process of constituting subjectivity and normalization of the psychic suffering and behaviors are developed by the clinical psychiatry and by the psychoanalysis during the studied period. We conclude that the psychiatric discourse, constructed around a biological view of the normal and pathological, has limited the epistemic complexity inserted in the psy field by psychoanalysis.
