Representations of "Rural": setting this space amid the increased complexity of the network of "interdependence"?

The article highlights the main contributions of Norbert Elias to analyze the Brazilian rural areas, expressing their complexity and relationship with the townspeople environments. We used the concepts of configuration and interdependence. The text expresses the dynamics in the formation of these spaces. The article includes analysis devoted to rural areas. It is indicated heterogeneity of them related to new relationships they establish with the urban spaces. Rural are assigned different functions in this configuration. Examples are highlighted its importance for preservation of the environment and cultural heritage, tourism practice leisure. Points out that to understand this space as part of a larger configuration, encompassing rural and urban areas, the Elias analyzes allow grasp the complex relationships established between the spaces. These influence each turn. Setting the rural is not an easy task due to the complexity of its network of interdependence, the formation of new ruralities.Downloads
