Brazil and global governance: the case of climate change

Abstract

This paper hás four parts. In the first one we discuss the concept of global governance and the differentation of the world society in relation to the problems of global governance at the beginning of the 21st century: liberals, nationalists, cosmopolitans and neo-feudals. In the second part we discuss the problematic of climate change, one of the most important questions of global governance. In the third part we discuss the Brazilian standing in relation to most of the issues of global governance and show the transition from nationalism to liberalism. In the fourth part we analyze the Brazilian standing in the formation of the climate change regime.
