Resumo

The economic dimension is relevant for achieving sustainability, as economic development leads to human well-being in harmony with the environment. Besides, within this dimension, one of the approaches is distributed economy, where production occurs on a small scale, involving user interaction, economic decentralization, and better income distribution. Therefore, this article explores the principles and heuristics that foster the economic dimension in fashion. The methodological procedures involved adapting the principles and heuristics from the book "Design for Sustainability: Economic Dimension" to the field of fashion, along with an unsystematic literature review. The results show that people's integration is crucial for the enduring success of previously observed examples and future endeavors in achieving the full economic dimension.
