Abstract

This paper describes results of bankfull hydraulic geometry relationships development for Marechal Cândido Rondon country streams, west region of Paraná state, Brazil. Cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys were measured at eight sites study to determined channels dimensions and slope information. Power function relationships were developed using regression analyses for bankfull discharge, channel cross-sectional area, mean depth and width as functions catchment area. The coefficients of determination (R2) interval ranged from 0,11 to 0,70. The report concludes that low correlations were due the inadequate choice of the height of the valley flat as the bankfull level, the alteration of the maximum flows caused by urbanization and the increase of bed shear stress in some stream due high channel gradient.
