Associações de municípios em Santa Catarina: da gênese à consolidação

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the division of the State of Santa Catarina into regions of municipal associations. The identification of agents and motivations, that resulted in the creation of this new scope of social representation, was based on the record’s scrutiny of the meeting’s procedure of constitution’s associations and on evidence gathered from interviews and questionnaires. This operational proceeding made it possible to analyse the social agents actions and the influence of the associativism and co-operativism tradition existing in the State.
