Abstract

This study aims to determine the rainfall erosivity index in Baguaçu Stream Basin, situated in the West Plateau of the State of São Paulo, region that presents soil erosion problems. These problems are related to anthropic factors, such as the lack or incorrect use of the management, as well as to intrinsic factors, like the occurrence of soils more prone to erosion. Using data on the rainfall, an estimated EI30 value has been obtained for the basin, allowing future preparation studies for control plans aiming at the minimization of the soil losses, and enabling the planning of the cultivation cycles for the existing agricultural farming.
