Mudanças climáticas e vulnerabilidade na agricultura familiar da região Rio Doce, Minas Gerais, Brasil

Resumo

A segurança alimentar está ameaçada pelas mudanças climáticas, pois aumentam a vulnerabilidade dos produtores agrícolas. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a vulnerabilidade às mudanças climáticas de agricultores familiares da região Rio Doce, Minas Gerais, Brasil, baseado nos graus de sensibilidade, exposição e capacidade adaptativa dos mesmos. A região Rio Doce abriga grande parte da bacia hidrográfica do Rio Doce. Os índices de sensibilidade, exposição e capacidade adaptativa foram calculados a partir de indicadores socioeconômicos e ambientais das propriedades. Os resultados mostraram variações de vulnerabilidade na região Rio Doce, impulsionadas por fatores climáticos, socioeconômicos e institucionais. Assim, as políticas de apoio devem ser ponderadas dentro da região.
