The World’s machine reinvented

This text analyses in 2010 the poetical scene of the poem The World’s machine of Carlos Drummond de Andrade written in 1949. It is reviewed relevant critical texts about the poem and intertextual possible connections. Among them, the correspondence between Mario de Andrade and Drummond helps to web an embroider that is ended with a thematically and biographical approximation with El Aleph of Jorge Luis Borges. The critical literary work is thought walking among the seriousness of the academic text, the poetical textuality and a blague’s tone. The punctum and the stadium of Roland Barthes in Câmara Clara are used as poetical/analytical/textual motivation.
