Abstract

The present work presents as main objective establishing a dialog between two tales from the collectanea O dia em que o Pato Donald comeu pela primeira vez a Margarida, published in 2007, by the Angolan writer João Melo: Violência and A beleza americana. Both texts focus the thematic about the post-modern and globalized world, engaged about the background of violence which manifests through fragmented and renounced identities.

Suzana Raquel Bisognin Zanon, Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões - Campus de Frederico Westphalen

É Mestre em Letras (Área de concentração: Literatura) (2010) pela Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões - URI - Campus de Frederico Westphalen; possui Graduação em Letras (Português, inglês e suas respectivas literaturas) (2007) pela mesma Universidade. Tem aperfeiçoamento em Língua Inglesa na Aspect English School, de Toronto, Canadá (2006) e possui proficiência nesta língua estrangeira (2008). Também faz parte do grupo de pesquisa "Literatura anglófona nas Américas", desde 2008 (Mestrado em Letras - URI). Atualmente, é Diretora do Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (C.R.A.S) do Município de Jaboticaba R/S.
