Let's take a look at the Juan Muraña tale by Jorge Luis Borges, focusing on two themes: the literary representation of Buenos Aires shores, which is found, above all, in the reflections and the fictional production of the so-called first phase of the writer, and action which involves issues that emerge when dealing with the Borges' narrative, for example, the courage as an engine that drives certain characters to act, treating the theme, among other issues. Therefore, the crossing of these two choices guiding this work will lead to an investigation of the action in the universe of the suburbs, of duels and daggers, contained in the Juan Muraña tale from the book Informe de Brodie, by Jorge Luis Borges.
