To this end, opted for a particular moment represented by the beginning of the career of Mexican illustrator and caricaturist Miguel Covarrubias in the American market in the early 1920, and by the beginning of the work of the Illustrator and caricaturist Andrés Guevara Paraguayan in Brazil around the same time. The text aims to address the issue of the influences and connections between modern artistic avant-garde of the beginning of the last century and the commercial art - customized works created for the publishing  market - of caricature and illustration: which would be the magnitude of this exchange of graphical information; which are the contributions to the illustration field; and what are the differences between the production of the avant-garde and the works of illustration influenced by them.
