Abstract

The paper proposes to create a dialogue or free approach between the Pietà poem, written by Rainer Maria Rilke and sculpture of the same name from the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo. In the center of the relationship, the idea that art and artist plunge into the "pain of the world" to bring from there the promise of happiness that is the beauty of creation. Todorov's essay on Rilke, which made frequent use here, is the basis for thinking this idea.
