In this essay, Salón de belleza (1994) by mexican writer Mario Bellatin is read from a perspective of the Moridero’s functioning as a death’s community. In the tension between a gesture and a gestion, as well as in the maintenance of a continuity throughout the conversion of a place of beauty in a place of death, it investigates the articulations between community and death in the text.
