Simulation models for the study of productive enterprises

This work studies the behavior of two different production systems: a fruit pulp plant and a metal mechanics plant that uses a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). The study is done by means of a simulation technique and the SIMUL8 software is used. In first place, basic simulation models are developed for each case and from these cases different work alternatives are proposed within the productive enterprises. By analyzing the final results, it could be inferred that the simulation models reproduce the real production systems, and them result in a very useful tool to do a detailed study, not only of the capacity, but the estimation of production times.Downloads
