The results presented here are based on the flocks of birds observed in the coast of Paraná and Morro do Bau, Santa Catarina. A total of 45 flocks was observed, 25 belonging to marine ecosystems and the remaining 20 belonging to the Atlantic forest. The highest average species numbers were 3 and 4.7, respectively from Atlantic forest and sandy beaches. Of the flocks from sandy beaches, 40% were seen resting and 60% were feeding. Of the water shelf flocks, 41.6% were seen feeding while all the flocks from the mangroves were seen resting and all the flocks from the mangroves were seen resting and all the flocks from the Atlantic forest were feeding.
