This paper describes a case of lack of pair bond mechanism to form a monogamic pair in a captivity, and lack of the dominance relations usually observed in Callithrix, between twin females of Callithrix kuhli. A pair of twin, virgin females were housed with an unrelated male. Both females conceived twins, which were born 27 days from each other. The resulting 4 infants were carried comunitarily by both females, except at the end of the day, prior to sleeping, when each female her own offspring. The association index showed a stronger union between females than between any of them. and the male. This is different from the monogamic model, proper of the Callithrix mating strategy.Downloads
