An accompaniment of a population of Drosera brevifolia was realized in a sand dune slack. Four zones of different altitudes and soil humidity were selected to study, in which periodically census were realized in 20 permanent plots of 10cm x 10cm. A great reduction of pluviosity was registered in the winter of 1988 (year of study), which caused a massive mortality of the individuals. A reduction in the number of individuals from the dry zone to the wetter zones created a "displacement" of droseras to the center of the lake, as the water table reduced. D. brevifolia presented an aggregated pattern of distribution in each zone. It is discussed the influence of soil humidity and vegetation cover in the determination of the occurence of individuals. A peak of flowering was observed in summer and the probability of a plant to flower is correlated to the diameter of its foliar basal rosette.Downloads
