The present investigation was carried out aiming the study of the influence of the light in the biotic and abiotic factors in a pond stocked with “pacu” ( Piaractus mesopotamicus) during 104 days, being 60 days the fishes were starved and the pond was covered with a black plastic and the other 44 days the pond was discovered and the fishes were feeding with ration (25% protein crude). The results showed that there was a difference between the two periods, mainly the chlorophyll ª, dissolved oxygen, pH and bicarbonate. The residence time and management showed too a direct effect in relation of ammonia, nitrate and electric conductivity.
