Ultra structural characterization of eupyrene and spermatozoa of Alabama argillacea hubner, 1818 ( Lepidoptera,noctuidae), from the testis to the genital ducts of male and female moths.

Abstract

Eupyrene (typical) and apyrene (atypical) spermatozoa of A. argillacea, a cotton plant plague, were studied by negative staining and ultrathin sections at Transmission Electron Microscopy. Their ultra structural morphology was described comparatively in the testis after releasing from the testi to genital ducts of the male and female months.

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de São Paulo (1968), mestrado em Ciências (Fisiologia Geral) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1970) e doutorado em Ciências (Fisiologia Geral) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1973). Atualmente é Professor Titular (ms-6) da Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Tem experiência na área de Morfologia, com ênfase em Citologia e Biologia Celular, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ultra-estrutura, espermiogênese, aparelho reprodutor e espermatozóides de insetos, e de ratos submetidos a diferentes tratamentos.
