Abstract

This article presents a series of reflections on racism, xenophobia and immigration in Spain during the first decade of the 21st century. Between 2000 and 2004, Spain was ruled by a parliamentary right-wing government; however in 2004, a parliamentary left-wing government began ruling the country, which is still in place today. What were the government’s actions on this issue? What happened in Spain? The main importance of this article is to reflect on the importance of the relationship between the discourse and the reality of migration.
