Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this article is to analyze the spatial and sociodemographic patterns of Bolivian migrants in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Based on theories of spatial incorporation and previous research, we analyze the concentration / dispersion cleavage as a dimension that contributes to explain spatial settlement patterns in the city. In the first place, it is suggested that the former migrants are mainly dispersed in the city while the most recent migrants are in concentration spaces. Second, the dispersed migrants in the city present the best socioeconomic indicators that the grouped ones. However, in comparative terms with other migratory groups, we suggest the complexity and nuances of the concentration / dispersion cleavage as a central dimension that contribute the understanding of spatial incorporation.
