Abstract

This article aims to analyze the reflections about economic growth, its limits and perspectives of decay, from a theoretical review. The construction of the argument points to the exhaustion of the conceptions of growth prevailing in the capitalist system, entering into question the question raised by Latouche (2006), as to the possibility of building a society of decay within a society of growth. It is proposed an argument with Solidarity Economy as one of the innumerable possibilities. Finally, even if the proposals pointed out by the authors of the theory of decay are relevant and necessary, it is understood that they do not have the strength to face the overcoming of this system.
