Globalizatio ex-nihilo? reflections on pre-modern Indian Ocean Nautical Sources, scientific globality and technical globalisation

Resumo

Minha afirmação central é que na história mundial em geral, e em particular na história do conhecimento, o processo dinâmico de globalização pressupõe e depende de uma contraparte estática fundamental para a qual uso aqui a palavra globalidade. Para apoiar essa afirmação, começo com uma analogia entre a gênese do mundo, a cosmogonia, desenvolvendo pontos filosóficos e teológicos para traçar minha analogia. Então, apresento exemplos de pesquisas sobre a história da ciência pré-moderna, a ver com a navegação no Oceano Índico e a expansão ibérica pré-moderna.
