Velho/Idoso: construindo o sujeito da terceira idade

Abstract

este artigo objetiva mostrar como diferentes linguagens vão conferir positividades à velhice, a partir do final da década de 70 e no decorrer das décadas de 80 e 90, quabdo estes sujeitos são construidos na literatura acadêmica, mas políticas públicas e nos agenciamentos de grupos de idosos ou de terceira idade. A velhice, frequentemente entendida como etapa de debilidade física, fase final da vida, vai ser dada a ler como momento de aproveitar a vida para fazer o que antes o trabalho ou outras atividades, especialmente ligadas a família, impediam que fosse realizado. Os direitos de cidadania conferem respeito, dignidade e novas espectativas de vida ao idoso, apresentado como terceira idade
