Resumo

This article presents the unfolding of the relationship between the moral and the ethical spheres in Habermas’s Discourse Ethics in the last years. In order to accomplish such task, I will begin by showing the capital elements for this dynamics, pointing out what joins Morality and Ethical Life, namely, the concept of man. Based on a certain consideration about the meaning of human, I emphasize, in a second moment, the silence of that philosopher’s thought about the question of moral motivation. By the end, however, I will argue how this problematic itself comes back in Habermas’s book The Future of Human Nature, promoting a redirection between both spheres – especially the Ethical Life, if compared to his 1980’s texts.
