Implementation of the “Caminhos do Trabalho” project: A reference unit in Santa Catarina

Abstract

The article describes the implementation of the "Caminhos do Trabalho" project at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and analyzes the profile of workers served during its pilot phase. Started in 2017 at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) with support from the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the project is present in ten other Brazilian federal universities. At UFSC, it was implemented in 2023 through an agreement with Fundacentro. Its goals include identifying and tackling work-related illnesses, aiming to reduce their underreporting through support for affected workers and analysis of data from public and private sources. In addition to the profile of the workers served, the text presents the service methodology and some of the results achieved by the project, such as: production of dossiers, medical reports, issuance of Work Accident Reports and training process for students.
