This essay discusses the importance of university extension with original peoples. Throughout the text, some precautions are presented for the development of extension activities with indigenous peoples, considering the importance of the University in articulating initiatives with these populations. The conclusion is that university extension plays an central role in the long process of justice and reparation carried out by the State with original peoples, but must be carried out with care due to the cultural specificities of these populations.
