Feminism at the university: extension project and feminist literacy

Abstract

The present work aims at sharing experiences of an extension project focused on the area of Gender Studies and Feminist Studies. The action is linked to the CNPq research group, GREG (Gender Studies Group) and it is a pedagogical activity in a roundtable in remote format, with undergraduate and graduate students, under the mediation of two researchers. The aim of the project is to promote awareness by using academic and literary texts to promote reflection on the relationship that language has with gender relations, in addition to providing a space for dissemination and promotion of academic production in the area. The results of the action demonstrate that a low number of people actually read or have access to specialized literature on feminism, which contributes to the dissemination of common-sense knowledge, for or against feminism.

Thami Amarilis Straiotto Moreira, Universidade Federal de Roraima

Possui graduação em Letras/Bacharelado em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Goiás - UFG (2009), mestrado em Letras e Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Goiás - UFG (2011) e doutorado em Semiótica e Linguística Geral pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas - USP (2016). Atualmente é professora adjunta do magistério superior do curso de Letras da Universidade Federal de Roraima - UFRR e participa dos grupos de pesquisa GREG, Grupo de Estudos de Gênero, e NEPSol-RR, Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas Sociolinguísticas de Roraima.

Martha Julia Martins, Universidade Federal de Roraima

É professora do curso de Letras/Português-Inglês da Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras - PPGL na mesma instituição. Possui graduação em Letras/Português-Inglês pela Universidade Estadual do Maranhão. É coordenadora do grupo de pesquisa do CNPq, GREG - Grupo de Estudos de Gênero e coordena os projetos de extensão Clube de Leitura de Literatura Jovem Adulto e Feminismo na Universidade para alunos, servidores e comunidade em geral.
