Rural producers organizations in France

Abstract

The text has as main objective to analyze, in a contextualized form, the formation process of the agricultural professional organizations (unions, associations and cooperatives of producers) in France. The choice of this subject is due to the political importance these organizations assume in the French agricultural context and, in particular, in technological modernization process of French agriculture, that happened in co-administration with the State. Though, this political representation model of the farmers' interests in French State has been having difficulties as the reforms of PAC, when introduced the direct payment to the farmers, generated an identity crisis, which was reflected in those agricultural organizations.
