The formation of the teacher of geography in the age of the information

Abstract

The present study aims to argue the changes that have occurred in the Brazilian education, in the course of the last few years, giving prominence for the alterations that have emerged in the formation of teachers, particularly, in the formation of Geography teacher. This formation passed to be guided by new principles and directions, which in certain measure, represent the principles of the contemporary society, known as technologic or information age.

Valdenildo Pedro da Silva, CEFETRN

Graduação em Licenciatura Em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (1988), mestrado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1999) e doutorado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2005). Atualmente é professor de 1º e 2º graus do Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Rio Grande do Norte e professor colaborador do mestrado em geografia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte.
