The creation of the touristic image of Ceará: tourism publicity or political advertisement?
Abstract
Analyzing the use of Ceara´s tourist image as a promoter of state political propaganda, this article seeks to reveal the consolidation of the reigning political-ideological apparatus. The analysis is based on the promotional material produced by the Ceará Secretary of Tourism. It was found that in addition to images of natural beauty, emphasis is given in the tourist propaganda to the realizations (public works, infrastructure, etc), the success, and triumphs of local governments, notably the Government of Changes program.Downloads
