Análise morfométrica e de textura superficial de grãos utilizada na identificação de litofácies eólica e de dissipação em rampa arenosa/dissipação: o caso da Praia Mole (Ilha de Santa Catarina)

Abstract

The work exhibits results of use of the morphometrical analysis and superficial texture of grains in Aeolian Lithofacies recognition and of dissipation, in sand ramp layers developed during the last glacial period in Praia Mole – Ilha de Santa Catarina. The size of the grains as a sphere showed little variation, not being significant parameter in the differentiation between Aeolian sediments (mature) and hillside sediments (immature). The rounding expressed certain maturity degree of the grains, above all in the identification of the granulemetrical fractions corresponding to aeolian grains mixed with hillside grains. The superficial texture is the property that most helped in Aeolian Lithofacies distinction and of dissipation, allowing to define granulemetrical fractions exclusively Aeolian and hillside (dissipation).
