Variation for a year of photosynthetically active, ultraviolet-a and ultraviolet-b radiation in the neighborhood Trindade, Florianópolis, Santa Catarina

Abstract

The objective of this study was to measure the intensity of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), ultraviolet A (UVAR) and ultraviolet B (UVBR) for one year (May to December 2013 and January to April 2014) in Florianópolis. Measurements were performed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1-hour intervals from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The highest intensities of PAR were observed in January, followed by February, November and December. The highest intensities of UVAR occurred from September to February, and for UVBR, from November to February. Taking into account the time, the incidences of PAR showed no statistical difference, UVAR intensities were higher than those of UVBR during all months and at all times. For UVAR the incidence peaks occur at noon, while the UVBR was more constant during measured times. Seasonally, it was noted that the highest indices of PAR, UVAR and UVBR occurred in summer.

Débora Tomazi Pereira, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Mestra em Biologia Celular e do Desenvolvimento pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) (2016), Licenciada (2015) e Bacharela (2014) em Ciências Biológicas pela mesma instituição. Cursando doutorado em Biologia Celular e do Desenvolvimento pela UFSC, sendo bolsista CAPES e estagiando no LABCEV (Laboratório de Biologia Celular Vegetal da UFSC). Atua em pesquisas que avaliam os efeitos de fatores abióticos, como radiação ultravioleta, salinidade, nutrientes e metais pesados, na biologia celular, no desenvolvimento e na fisiologia de macroalgas marinhas.

Zenilda Laurita Bouzon, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Possui graduação em Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1979), mestrado em Biologia Celular e Molecular pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1993) e doutorado em Ciências Biológicas (Botânica) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1999). Atualmente é professora titular da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, orientadora dos programas de pós-graduação em Biologia Celular e Desenvolvimento e Biologia Vegetal. Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Célula Vegetal sob a ação da radiação ultravioleta e metais pesados.

 

Carmen Simioni, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas - Licenciatura e Bacharelado pela Universidade Comunitária da Região de Chapecó (2004), mestrado em Biologia Vegetal pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2011) e doutorado em Biologia Celular e do Desenvolvimento pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2014). Atualmente é pesquisa e desenvolvimento da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Biologia Celular, Molecular e Desenvolvimento, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: radiação ultravioleta b, metais pesados, microscopia eletrônica e confocal.
