Abstract

The industrialization in the south-west of Paraná State is a recent process. It has begun in the 70ths with the wood industry, furnishings, real state market and food sectors. But, it is after the end of 80ths that starts the process of industrialization in other areas not linked directly with agricultural production, for instance plastic industries, household appliances and clothing. The clothing area has the biggest number of employees of the south-west, causing significant changes in the regional economy, mainly, where there is a concentration of industrial parks. This expansion is connected with the local government infrastructure and tributaries incentives to the industries and with the extremely cheap work force.
