The aim of this article is to establish a reflection oposing the
so-called crisis in the utopian model of public space and the
imminence of new forms, meanings and behaviors in urban spaces,
which can be more accurately understood with the idea of
heterotopy. This problematic concept of Foucault was discussed in
the context of post-modern geography and, in this article, is used to
question the role of the social dimension within the theory of
public spaces.
